Myth: Blood donation makes low blood pressure
Fact: This is not true. The fact that it takes a day or two days to fill the fluid of the body and takes three months for the regeneration of red blood cells in order to donate more blood.
Myth: It is better to full rest for a day after donating blood
Fact: You can easily continue regular daily activities after donating blood, but with notes:
- Enough fluid requirement by drinking lots of water or juice within 24 hours after a blood donor
- Avoid exposure to sunlight
- Avoid driving for the next 2-3 hours
- Avoid smoking for 4 hours
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
Myth: Blood donor is a painful procedure
Fact: Donating blood is not painful at all. We just feel the sensation as being pinched when the needle pierces the arm.
Myth: I do not have to donate blood often, because it can make my body weak
Fact: A healthy person can donate blood four times a year.
Myth: Blood donors can cause stress, severe headaches, and vomiting
Fact: Blood donors cannot cause headaches and vomiting if your blood pressure is within normal limits before donating blood
Myth: Blood donors lower the immune level
Fact: The immune level is not affected just because you donate blood
Myth: Donating blood can fluctuate against blood pressure and blood sugar levels
Fact: Blood donors will not affect the blood pressure and blood sugar levels. However, a diabetic patient who is receiving insulin cannot donate blood
Myth: Frequent blood donors make the body iron deficient
Fact: A healthy person with good eating habits can donate his blood four times a year within three months. This will not make the iron content in your body is reduced

Fact: Blood donor procedures start from registration until blood taking takes about half an hour
